How Weights Will Help You Lose Weight

“Don’t be afraid of lifting heavy, be afraid of feeling weak.”⁣

⁣The large majority of my fat loss was down to my weight training and of course, my nutrition. Equally, the amount of loose skin I had, was kept very minimal due to the fact that I lifted weights throughout my journey which meant that although I was reducing my size, I was building a shape beneath!

I have never been a cardio queen and the thought of getting on a treadmill at 25 stone in order to lose weight was terrifying and quite frankly, less than appealing!

I was lucky enough to work with a trainer who introduced me to weight training and I haven’t looked back since. Other than doing some LISS (low-intensity cardio eg, walking) and taking up boxing towards the end of my journey, I didn’t do any other form of cardio.⁣⁣

This is why I now teach women to transform their bodies in the same way. Using a method that is empowering and fun! Not only that, but strength training has SO many benefits for long term health as well as for aesthetics. ⁣

⁣Whether you’re lifting weights or doing cardio, the effect is the same - you are USING energy.

That’s why weight training works. It’s just ANOTHER way to burn calories! ⁣

Why you should consider lifting if you are trying to lose body fat?⁣

✔️REASON 1

⁣⁣It is an empowering and fun way to lose body fat that doesn’t involve running on the treadmill for 2 hours or walking around the gym spending 20 minutes on every single cardio machine that exists 😴!⁣⁣

✔️REASON 2

You can BUILD the body that you want! Muscle is what gives the body shape and form. If you want an hourglass figure, you can create it! ⁣

✔️REASON 3

Decreased risk of injury⁣. Being stronger means you are less likely to cause yourself injuries or suffer from common conditions like back pain!⁣

✔️REASON 4

It helps combat age-related muscle loss⁣. Unfortunately, as we grow wiser, we also lose our muscle. The more you start with, the more you keep!⁣

✔️REASON 5

By having more muscle you can eat more food than you did previously and maintain your weight. This is because the amount of calories your body will now need to maintain your current weight is higher! ⁣(IS THIS NOT EVERY REASON TO START ?! ) #foodie😂⁣
