What To Do When Your Habits Don't Stick...

Sometimes habits just don't stick!

It can be SO frustrating when you want to get on track and nothing feels like it's working.

Last week I posted about how you can create habits to reach your goals, but what happens when it's just not working?

Firstly, you need to stop beating yourself up for things that haven't worked!

Remember your inner child, they don't respond to anger and guilt. Letting go of the expectation that you need to do it all perfectly is ok, don't punish yourself for not being able to stick to things.

I always talk about the WHY during training, maybe you need to think about why you've not been able to stick to creating the habits you want to set.

Do you have unrealistic expectations?
Do they actually fit with your lifestyle?
Do you need to make sure you're doing enough self-care activities to be motivated to complete the habits & goals you've set?
Do you need to seek a coach or therapist to help you?
Do you really want to do what you've set yourself?

Being honest with yourself about what you're struggling with brings awareness to you and what you can practically do. You cannot change what you are not aware of! There is NO one size fits all approach that works.

For so many people, the guilt of failing to achieve the goals they've set can stop them from restarting again, but I'm here to tell you, that doesn't have to be you.

It's ok to pivot when things are not working for you. Think about what you NEED to cultivate those habits and reach your goals, and set your boundaries accordingly.
