My Tips For When Life Gets Exhausting!

These last couple of weeks have felt exhausting. As a world, it feels like we’re all going through a lot right now.

We are being stretched & tested, invited to look at our lives in a different way, which ultimately is for good, but sometimes the process isn’t made any easier knowing that right?

Here’s a list of things that have been helping me lately...

🤗 I encourage you to make a list of your own.

1)Getting out in nature every day 🌳 (& on really rough days, when I feel even that is too much of a task, I just sit in front of the window and take in the light instead)

2)Going to bed early. For me, nothing productive happens after 10pm. I’ll either be working or falling into the social media death trap of scrolling for hours and then being so stimulated that I can’t sleep

3)Re introducing a sleep routine (sometimes we get out of sync with the things we know that work, so let’s go back to them!) 💤

1. Minimise blue light exposure (phone/laptop/screen)
2. Warm herbal tea to help calm my nervous system
3. Magnesium salt bath if particularly stressed or low
4. 1000mg of Magnesium 30 mins before bed
5. Nature sounds or sleep meditation
6. Mouth tape (to get me into a deep sleep state- this has been a game changer for me)

4)Yoga (sometimes I just do child’s pose and try to focus on my breathing)

5)Eating persimmon fruit, these are my new favourite desert 😍

6)Scheduling down time & prioritising essential vs non essential tasks

7)Taking time away from anything that overstimulates my nervous system (TV, social media, caffeine, particular people or tasks)

8)Daydreaming and looking at old holiday pictures, reminding myself that everything that is going on now, shall pass

9)Reorganising and clearing out my bedroom. Clearer the room, Clearer the mind

10)Spending time with my fluffy hamster🐹 Animals & babies make everything lighter 💜
